Tori Pounds
Tori has over 10 years of experience as an artist and illustrator and has exhibited internationally with contemporary galleries. Her work draws inspiration from the loose wit of Quentin Blake, the carefully crafted worlds of Wes Anderson, and the whimsy of Guillermo del Toro. She is also influenced by puppetry and the tactile charm of stop-motion, particularly the characters in Coraline and Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Tori’s illustrations are loose, wacky, and slightly sketchy showing emotions that bring her characters to life. She is especially interested in personality, movement, and that slightly offbeat quality that makes an image feel alive.
Tori trained for a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art at the Academy Minerva in the Netherlands. She lives and works in her studio in West Sussex with her rescue dog she found in Oaxaca, Mexico. He has a habit of finding his way into her drawings.
